Business Delegation

Trip to China

Since China and Panama established diplomatic relations a year ago, the appetite to know this market and, in other cases, to take advantage of it has not stopped. Hence the mass travel of men who dominate local commerce.
A delegation of more than 20 Panamanian companies will participate for the first time in the China International Import Expo 2018, in Shanghai, China. It is the largest importer fair in the Asian continent.
The business missions are made up of two groups. One that is part of the delegation that will accompany President Juan Carlos Varela from November 5 to 10, and the one made up of members of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (Cciap), which traveled from last October 28 until on November 10, 2018.
Among the companies that accompany President Varela are Cocle Camaronera, Don Pachi Estate, Empresas Melo and Varela Hermanos.
The list of the business mission of Cciap is unknown, it is only known that they belong to the agro, construction, technology and textile and clothing importers sector. These are executives who covered all of their expenses.
The businessmen traveling with Varela, mostly belong to the food sector and were invited by the Ministries of Commerce and Industries (MICI) and Agricultural Development.
The MICI covers the expenses of the trade fair; and the businessmen and exporters cover their stay expenses.

At the China International Import Expo 2018, Panamanian companies will have the opportunity to exhibit the product offer in order to get new customers, said Roy Rivera, president of the Sindicato de Industriales de Panamá (SIP).
More than 1,500 buyers will participate in the fair, which will take place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, China.
